The Mundane (from Renee)

Babaji,

It is becoming more and more clear to me that right livelihood in this world of Maya may be very difficult to achieve.

A wise spiritual teacher said last week when asked about career that goes agains what he feels is right, that the responsibility of the care for family goes beyond the job. Look for something not in conflict, but you will find conflict there too! IE: If you are a specialist in pharmaceuticals, the competitive employer will likely show the same conflicts to us.

My feeling is that where there is conflict, we should simply bless the situation and the people involved. I was not previously capable of understanding that we are not responsible for the conflicts we did not create. I had believed that if we were in conflict we should leave the situation, that has created many problems for me in my career!

Although, I am far from full understanding on this topic, I am closer to a proper understanding of how the mundane job fits into our lives and the role it plays.

The perfect job, just like the perfect life without any conflicts, challenges and growth does not exist. Without challenges, how do we grow. I am closer to understanding what you meant about my career, when you said "The job you seek does not exist" the last time you communicated with Devotees.

I realize that my expectations for a paid job must be erased, and I must be open to the job that is mine by divine right to come to me in a perfect way in divine grace. I must also continue to do my seva, which may or may not have anything to do with my paid position. I was trying to put seva and job together, and although seva should be in all we do, you just can't seek seva to be part of your job although the opportunities presented to you in community, and at work can become seva!

Now I simply seek the position that is mine by divine right, that meets with my living expenses, allows me to help others in my personal and professional life and allows for my career growth that exposes me to people who allow for or play a role in my continual expansion as a Spiritual Being.

Sometimes, it takes coming at us from a few angles to get the message through to our Higher Mind! Thank you for continually trying to get this message through my thick head in many different ways.

Namaste,

OM Nama Shivaya,
Renee
